It’s Possible

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

Often times in life we take a pessimistic view when faced with life’s challenges. We spend all our time seeing the obstacles instead of focusing on the opportunities within the challenge. Through this type of thinking we not only limit our own abilities, but we constrict the flow of God’s power that is available to work on our behalf.
Anything is possible to them that believe, but most of the time it is believing that we deserve to be blessed that is hard to comprehend. As children of God it is his pleasure to bless us, but we must first come into an understanding of who we are, and what deserve as heirs to God’s throne.
Once we have adjusted our mindset it will enable us to take action to manifest our dreams as opposed to sitting idly by watching others realize their dreams. It has been said, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
If you can believe it, you can achieve it. If God has placed a vision on your heart, don’t hesitate to put feet to the vision and trust that I He has given it to you that He will equip you with the tools and drive to make it come to pass. Start today. Go for it!

“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it”
Chinese Proverb

Be Hungry

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
-James 2:17-

My entire life I’ve made excuses and blamed person after person for my shortcomings while all the while I was sole source of my own pain and misfortune. The only thing or person that was holding back was me. Truth be told, I allowed my fear of failure outweigh my desire to succeed. I blamed my lack of conviction and focus, inability to follow through, and tendency for procrastination on everyone but the man in the mirror.
It has been said that courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to feel fear and do it anyway. I’ve spent a large portion of my life stuck in the paralysis of analysis as opposed to having the courage to fulfill God’s true purpose for my life.
Through the encouragement of my biological and church families I have discovered the courage and intestinal fortitude to move forward with the vision God has given me to share my life experiences with the world.
If not for their love and actions I wouldn’t be here today, and the dreams God has given me would have died with me. It has been said that the saddest thing is for a man to be lying on his death bed with all his hopes, ideas, and dreams standing around him saying, “We were given to you, only you could have given us life, but because you failed to do so, we must die with you.” Miles Munroe said, “the richest place in the world is not the diamond mines in Africa, it’s the graveyard, because there you will find books never written, dreams never fulfilled, etc. “
Whatever your dreams are, whatever your goals are, know this. You are greater than you think you are. Whatever you are seeking is also seeking you. Don’t hesitate any longer. Step out on faith and let God turn your actions into your reality. Give Him your little portion and watch Him multiply it into His abundance.

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”

Will

You will be what you will to be;
Let failure find its false content
In that poor word “environment,”
But spirit scorns it, and is free.
It masters time, it conquers space,
It cowes that boastful trickster Chance,
And bids the tyrant Circumstance
Uncrown and fill a servant’s place.
The human Will, that force unseen,
The offspring of a deathless Soul,
Can hew the way to any goal,
Though walls of granite intervene.
Be not impatient in delay,
But wait as one who understands;
When spirit rises and commands,
The gods are ready to obey.
The river seeking for the sea
Confronts the dam and precipice,
Yet knows it cannot fail or miss;
You will be what you will to be!

Bear Fruit

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 15:8

Often times we have lofty goals and expectations of what we expect in our lives. However, the cares of this world cause us to abort our mission long before what we are anticipating manifests. Nevertheless, we continue on in life with the delusion that someday if we wish hard enough, that which we desire will magically appear. Without any effort we hope for the best, but deep down inside, in places we don’t talk about, we expect the worst. Les Brown said “that you should judge a tree by the fruit that it bears, not by the fruit it talks about, not by the fruit it wants, but by the fruit it bears.” In order to make our dreams a reality we must utilize discipline and effort. We must engage in daily activities that move us in the direction of that which we desire. It is then, and only then that we will realize the fruit of our labor and the manifestation of our goals.

“WANT shows up in conversation – EXPECTATION shows up in behavior.”
Les Brown

My Wage

I bargained with life for a penny,
And life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my spanty store;

For life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of life,
Life would have paid.
